We have R10′s and 191′s in 32.5″, 33″, 33.5″ and 34″ lengths.

For me, these are the best models for our players. Bats are maple with medium barrels. Our logo is engraved on the barrel on each bat.

These will be available for purchase at our player/parent meeting in early May. Each bat is $80 (compared to retail of $89-$99).

The Southern Wayne high school standout, and University of North Carolina signee died in his sleep.

“Kevin played for us this fall and was always a real treat to be around,” stated Dirtbag Head Coach Andy Partin. “He really represented everything it means to be a Dirtbag. He was always the dirty shirt guy, playing every pitch as hard as he possibly could.”

“He loved the game of baseball,” Partin added. ” He had a tremendous future ahead of him for the Tar Heels. I was shocked when I learned of his passing. This is a very sad time in the Dirtbag family and in the baseball community. Our hearts go out to his family and friends. He will be missed.”

The funeral service is at 7:00 PM, Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Southern Wayne high school.

In honor of Kevin, Dirtbags players who attend the service are asked to wear their Gold Dirtbags jersey.

Smith played his prep baseball at JH Rose high school from 1985-1988. His senior year his team finished up ranked 5th in the Nation by USA Today.

From 1998-2006 Smith managed the Hurricanes AAU baseball team based out of Greenville, NC. His 13U team won the AAU National Championship in 2004. Nine players from that team are currently playing college baseball.

Smith is currently an assistant coach at South Central high school in Winterville, NC. Smith is married with three children. His son Aaron currently plays baseball for Pfieffer University.
