Adam Pate Wears “C” For 2013 Class

3-year Dirtbag veteran Adam Pate has been named “Captain” of the Dirtbags Baseball Club announced Head Coach, Andy Partin.

“Adam has grown in our program, he’s become a terrific player and leader and has put himself in a position to help lead our program in 2012,” stated Partin. He’s everything we want in a Dirtbag. We all look forward to watching Adam continue to develop on and off the field and we know he will help pilot the Dirtbag community to great things this summer and fall.”

Pate is a 2013 graduate from C.B. Aycock high school in Pikeville, NC. He is a superb outfield defender, and features the ability to play every position on the diamond. Pate is an excellent bat-handler and is a multi-threat offensive player, who can really play the small game and is one of the best base stealers in Dirtbag history.

First Parent/Player Meeting – May 20

The Dirtbags Baseball Club’s first mandatory parent/player meeting is scheduled for Sunday, May 20 at Forsyth Country Day School’s Gym. We will know by the end of the week and will post here.

This is for players playing in the SUMMER of 2012.

Location: Main Gym at Forsyth Country Day School (building below tennis courts)
*Player will receive all uniforms at this time.

Trent Rothlin Joins Staff!

3-year Dirtbags alumni and former Ole’ Miss standout right-hander Trent Rothlin has joined the Dirtbags coaching staff.

“Trent was one of the top pitchers we have ever had in our organization. He helped us accomplish great things over his three years in our program. He went on to be a great player at Ole’ Miss and I couldn’t be more excited to have him back in the dugout with us,” stated Andy Partin.

Rothlin was a two-time All-State selection at Fred T. Foard high school. He was drafted out of high school in the 35th round by the Mariners in 2007.

The talented right-hander signed with Clemson University out of high school, but finished his playing career and graduated from Ole’ Miss. He was twice named Coastal Plains “Pitcher of the Week.” In 2010, Rothlin played in the Charlottesville, Virginia Regional.

2012 Wood Bats

The Dirtbags have joined up with MaxBats in 2012, the same bat company Dirtbag alumni and KC Royals top prospect Wil Myers uses.

We have R10′s and 191′s in 32″, 32.5″, 33″, 33.5″ and 34″ lengths.

For me, these are the best models for our players. Bats are maple with medium barrels. Our logo is engraved on the barrel on each bat.

These will be available for purchase at our player/parent meeting in early May. Each bat is $80 (compared to retail of $89-$99).
