What parts of your game did you really focus on this offseason?

This offseason I really worked on getting stronger and working on my fast twitch muscles.

How is the season looking for West Forsyth? What’s the strength of this year’s Titan club?

2018 is looking very bright for West Forsyth. We have a deep pitching staff and a ton of speed in the order.

Take us through your mindset when entering the box?

As a leadoff hitter I really focus on making the pitcher show his full arsenal, so the hitters behind me has an idea of what he’s thinking for the rest of the game.

Who’s the best player you have played with while playing with the Dirtbags?

No doubt. Nolan Mclean (2020 Garner High School)

What are you looking to accomplish in your last year with the Dirtbags?

I would love to win one of the biggest tournaments in the country before leaving the Dirtbags.

When you hear the following names, give us one word that comes to mind?

Reagan Reid- Hard Nosed

Houston Koon- Smart

Connor Monroe- Dominant

Jack Hicks- Hitter

Cole Benton-Crafty

If you had to give one piece of advice to the younger/potential Dirtbags. What would you tell them?

Some advice I would give is, wear the Dirtbags jersey with confidence and let everybody know who you are! Playing hard is not a question, it’s a given.

You’re heading to Appalachian State in 2019. What drew you to the Mountaineers?

The family atmosphere there and the coaching staff was very impressive to me. I’m looking forward to being part of their baseball tradition.

What’s one thing most people don’t know about Peyton Idol?

One thing most don’t know is I won a buckle and a championship in mutton buston in King, North Carolina.

Stay tuned for another exciting “Under The Gun” interview coming up Thursday…
