Describe Matt Kemp as a person off the field?

I’m a hard worker in the classroom. My grades are a huge part of getting me to where I want to go.

I know you’re a pretty strong academic student, what’s your favorite subject?

My favorite subject is Math.

How did you start playing baseball?

I was handed a bat and glove at the age of 4 and couldn’t get enough of it.

What areas of your game did you work on in the offseason?

I really needed to get stronger, so the big thing I worked on in the offseason was working out.

Randleman has a rich tradition of baseball, what was it like growing up watching it?

When I was younger I watched Randleman go to back to back state championships and win one of them and I knew from there I wanted to be a part of it. It’s awesome playing for this team.

Describe yourself as a baseball player?

I go 100% every play, that’s what makes good players great, and I want to be one of those guys. This is the best game in sports. I try and respect it and play it the way it’s supposed to be played

What does Dirtbags Baseball mean to you?

It means a ton. I play for the best organization in the country, and I believe that.

What’s your most memorable game as a Dirtbag?

My most memorable game so far was the game we played to take us to the semifinals in the WWBA. We won 2-1.

Who’s the best player, you have had played with while playing with the Dirtbags?

Nolan McLean (2020, Uncommitted). He’s a great player and make us all of us better.

Give us a piece of advice for future Dirtbags?

Trust the process. This organization will get you where you want to go.
