You went through a minor setback in 2017, how are you feeling as 2018 has begun?
I put in a lot of hard work in the off-season to get my arm stronger and now it’s feeling great.
How’s the High School season started for you?
It’s going well, we have a really good team and we have a good chance at making a long run in the playoffs.
What’s one area of your game you feel like you have improved since playing with the Dirtbags?
The mental side of my game and the confidence I have when I’m pitching has improved tremendously.
How has playing with the Dirtbags helped you become a better player?
Getting to play with a lot of really good players has motivated me to work harder to play at a higher level.
What’s one thing you didn’t know about the Dirtbags that you know now since you have been with the program entering your third year?
I learned how dedicated the coaches are to helping you be successful and the amount of connections they have with colleges and pro scouts.
Talk about the friendship and relationships you have made while playing with the Dirtbags?
I have met some of my best friends playing with the Dirtbags and we communicate almost every day.
What’s your best Dirtbag moment?
Playing in Fort Myers in the WWBA tournament in front of scouts and then hanging out with my teammates on the beach after the games.
What’s one piece of advice that a coach has told you while playing with the Dirtbags that has stuck in your mind?
With me being a pitcher, that I set the tone for the entire game. The defense behind me will feed off what I do and how I control the game.
How has the Dirtbags helped prepare you for Clemson University?
They have helped me prepare for competing at a high level and for playing in high pressure situations.
If Nick Clayton wasn’t playing baseball, what would you be doing?
Playing golf and fishing.
