Opening day of High School baseball is this week, how are you feeling?

I’m feeling good, been working and waiting for it to come around.

What part of your game did you improve this offseason?

This offseason I really worked on hitting the ball to all parts of the field

What’s your outlook on the 2018 Mooresville High School club?

Mooresville club is looking good this year! I’m excited we have ten guys that can really chuck the rock on bump anytime their number is called. If our hitting clicks I think we could make a legit run at it this year. We will surprise some people for sure and I can’t wait!

Moving forward to the summer, what are you looking forward to most about being with the Dirtbags?

Moving forward to the summer, we have a really good schedule and got a great group of guys coming back and a few guys that are going to be a great addition to the team. But I’m really looking forward to see some of my teammates take on the recruiting process and see those guys commit to some great schools!

What’s one thing you learned most about being a Dirtbag in 2017?

One thing I learned in 2017 playing for the Dirtbags was that the coaches really coach you to prepare you for college baseball. They want to make sure you are ready and prepared for the next level.

Most memorable Dirtbag game so far?

Beating the San Diego Show and advancing to the quarter finals at the Perfect Game National Championship at Lake Point in GA.

If you had a chance to win the game as a pitcher or hitter, what would you choose?

If I had a chance to win the game, it would be at the plate.

What does Dirtbag baseball mean to you?

Dirtbags baseball to me means hard nose baseball, great coaches, preparing you for the next level and the best program in NC!

You’re committed to East Carolina as a two way player. What made you choose ECU?

I choose ECU because they believe in two way players. I love the coaching staff, and I think they have a great program that can go win in Omaha! Go Pirates.

If Cam Clonch had a day off from baseball, what would you be doing?

I would be hunting or fishing..

Stay tuned for another exciting “Under The Gun” interview coming up Monday..
