How has the High School started off?

My high school season is off to a great start. We won the Rotary preseason tournament and are currently 7-1.

Who’s your biggest rival in High School baseball?

Our biggest rival is Ashley Ridge High School.  We have a lot of fun at those games. It’s really friendly. Most of us have played Little League and Travel Ball together.

What’s the strength of your 2018 club?

Our biggest strength is our ability to keep our heads up when we’re down and battle back to win.

Take us back to last summer with the Dirtbags, what’s the biggest lesson you learned?

Never give up and never show your disappointment.

Describe Coach Brendan Dougherty and what he brings to the table, as far as a coach?

Coach Dougherty has high expectations. He encourages you and always tries to point how you can improve your game.

How has Dirtbags Baseball made you a better player?

Playing for the Dirtbags has made me a better player by teaching me to grind through any situation. If you make a bad play, learn from it and move on.

Who’s the best player you have played with while playing with the Dirtbags?

Jacob English (2018 INF, University of South Carolina Signee). He’s fast and pushes me to be faster.

What are you looking forward to the most about playing with the Dirtbags this summer?

I’m looking forward to this summer. I get to play with great players. We play hard and have a good time while doing it. Just a positive group of guys.

Dirtbags means what to you?

I love being a Dirtbag. I’ve met great players, new friends; receive valuable input and guidance from my coaches.

If you could trade places with anyone in the world for a day, who would it be?

Derek Jeter. He’s a class act. I’ve never heard anyone say a bad word about him.
